This is a fine belt sander. So far, I have used 50 and 80 grit 3M sandpaper and I recommend both. The sander is weighty, hand pressure is not required against the sanding surface. Hold it securely, before pulling the start trigger. You'll get use to it. The old sanding belt detaches with a flick of a knob, a new belt is easily inserted and tightened by the same knob. IT'S EASY. What I really love is shopping at amazon.com. No longer are we held hostage by the brick and mortar home improvement stores.
